Welcome!

I'm Cristel and I'm glad you found your way here. Coaching is a really powerful partnership based on learning, support, and accountability to help you make the lasting changes you want. It's full of aha moments and is action-oriented, so if you're looking to make a change, are in a period of transition, or just feel stuck, coaching can definitely help.
If you want to hear more about who I am (third culture kid, amalgamist) and how I became a coach (veterans), or who I love to coach (anyone in a period of transition), here's my story. I'm an International Coaching Federation (ICF), trained in Leadership and Organizational Development at American University, and in team coaching at Brown University. In addition to a Master's in International studies and 25 years' experience in the public and private sector, I'm also a strategic leader, writer, wife & mother, boxer, third-culture kid from a military family, a cancer-survivor... so many things I eventually just made up my own word for it- an Amalgamist. I like to put things together. Initially, I went back to school to better serve the veterans I host on fellowships as they transition out of the military, and those returning from combat zones. Along the way, I expanded my focus to transitions in general, from changing careers and relationships, to connecting with your purpose, and navigating through life's challenges. What makes transitions hard, and special, is they rarely fit with our norms and expectations. Transitions don't follow predictable paths or dates, and so much is beyond our control. Coaching helps us identify what is most important to us, what we can change, and how we can go about it, with support and accountability. Coaching is my calling, and I'd be honored to support you in yours.

"It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye."
Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
